OMG I am so excited. I finalized two home exchanges for our time in Europe and I can barely sit still anymore! Traveling has always been my greatest passion and now my heart sings!

I will go first to Switzerland in May and later in July I will go to the Netherlands with both my parents and my lovely nieces. I could scroll through the pictures of the places the whole night in anticiption!

Read of the month (Mar 2020)

I fell in love with this book right away. So I haven´t even finished reading it but I can definitely recommend it!

The central question in this book is “What do you want from life?”. Based on this question the author shows the difference between living life as the best version of yourself and “just living” and committing to a life that does not make you feel happy and fulfilled.

I will write more as I read along, for now I can only say: “read it, it is clearly worth it”

Read of the month (Feb 2020)

I am so sorry, I did not realise that the read of the month was still missing for February!

This month I recommend “The universe has your back” by Gabrielle Bernstein. During my appearance as “Coach of the month” for The go love yourself box (USA) in August 2019, this was the book we discussed in the monthly reading circle.

BTW, if you are looking for a brilliant way to assure you get your amount of self care each month then you should check on this project, which is a great initiative created by Sharon Podobnik.

So, back to the book. Gabrielle is very spiritual and some might find it “too much”, but I really enjoyed her book with hands-on exercises on how to set up a trusting relationship with life, based on the power of the universe.

I read her book during my miracle morning exercises and I took some of her “Universal lessons” with me into each day. She breaks the process of learning to trust the universe in small steps, so it is really easy to get started right away.

Due to this set up it is easy to read “in between” and makes it a perfect book to read on the way to work or when you have some short amount of time for reading.

I hope you will like it 🙂

Read of the month (Jan 2020)

Just in time, here is the read of the month for January!

This month I recommend “The miracle morning” by Hal Eldrod. The book was published in 2012, so it is not new. But I did not read it before now and I thought this is just the perfect opportunity to recommend it because it changed my life, just in the perfect moment!

If you want to change your life significantly with very little effort and still a huge impact then this book is the right one for you! All you have to do is to get up an hour earlier each day and establish a routine of personal empowerment!

What does the trick here is that it will get easy for you to wake up earlier because the excitement of knowing you will start the day with doing something that is uplifting and fulfilling will just get you out of bed without any effort. Hal recommends to reserve one hour each morning where you focus on personal development. What actually happens is you will not miss out any planned self care any more because it is your first priority of the day.

My first morning actually ended that way that I got so excited for the day that I could barely finish my routine. Me, that was very sceptic of this one hour that would be “missing”! He advices six areas of self development, I changed it a little and “customized” it to my needs. So my routine contains the following parts:

  • Sit in silence (10 minutes)
  • Do Yoga (10 minutes)
  • Read an inspirational book (10 minutes)
  • Do some stretching (10 minutes)
  • Take a walk by the sea (15 minutes)

Let me know what you think about it and how your micacle morning routine looks like 🙂

Read of the month (Dec 2019)

I decided to add a new feature on my page, which is called “Read of the month”

So each month I will recommend a book, blog or article, which I really think is a game changer when it comes to life.

This month I recommend “The illusion of money” by Kyle Cease. Kyle Cease started as a standup comedian decades ago but today he works as a coach, motivational speaker and author.

The book starts out with an introduction about money and what is associated with it. But then quickly changes to how to live your life fulfilled according to your purpose. Some chapters end with exercises on what is important to you and how you can live your life in sync with that. I think it is very motivating and offers a new perspective on how to life your life in a way that fulfils you. Especially the rating exercises (reorganise your life according to your “10s”) were an eye opener for me. Let me know what you think about it and enjoy 🙂

About self love

Self love is very important, yet most people find it difficult to practice. You can start with honouring yourself in the end of the day. Go through your day in your mind before you go to sleep and think about pleasant moments of the day that are related to you. The beautiful painting you created, the smile at a stranger, who looked sad. We will always find something about us that day that makes us a special person.

Be fierce

When you face hard times be fierce and courageous. It is totally normal to get anxious or unsettled from time to time. The best way to deal with it is to go right into the storm and face your feelings. Sit down in a quiet spot and close your eyes. Focus on the breathing and turn your attention inwards. Allow yourself to feel the emotion and accept it. When panic or fear take over, focus on the breath and calm down. Repeat this until you can sit with the feeling and the panic is gone. Then you can release the emotion and can move on.

Back to work

I had quite a busy summer and did not post anything since April. Now it´s back to basics and the usual routine takes over. The Icelandic summer is very short and everybody kind of drops everything and just enjoys the short season. I ran my first online course and my first coaching weekend and both went very well. I learned a lot and got so many new ideas. What are you planning for the autumn?
